Whether you're cheering on the sidelines or playing in the games, everyone at GFA is enjoying the new turf fields! The school noticed its need for the new fields when practices were consistently getting canceled because of rain. So, they came up with a solution. The weather no longer needs to permit because the teams will still have productive practices and can put more effort into winning more games.

The artificial turf they installed over the summer can control the environment by filtering out the rain, so student-athletes can play without worry during inconsistent weather. The new fields even benefit the environment. The fuel-powered fields reduce the use of pesticides and have little to no impact on GFA’s water sources. The added fields allow softball and baseball players to practice during the spring when their usual fields are unplayable because of the weather. The partial track will allow track runners to practice hurdles, baton hand-offs, and sprints!

Now, everyone can enjoy these new fields for an extended time. The GFA staff predicts them to last 11 to 14 years!
