Clubs at GFA

Natalie Salinas ‘28

At GFA, we offer many clubs that allow students to express themselves in certain interests they find intriguing. These clubs provide a safe space for students, and they build communities with others who have common interests. At GFA, there are a variety of different clubs, some surrounding academics, such as the math team, along with clubs that focus on the core subjects, such as those provided at school. Certain clubs sometimes open their door to other members of the GFA community, sharing their culture and holding space for discussions around current events. Other clubs offer opportunities to express themselves in creative ways, like art,t whether through community service, making letters for those in need with Letters for Love club, or just to serve as a space where people can work on individual projects, like in Art Club. A large portion of the clubs at GFA are community service-based and strive to make positive impacts in the community, in their own unique way. Partnering with Ms. Wilchinsky and the community service team, these clubs can take off-campus trips, allowing for the opportunity for students to engage with and support communities outside of their own.

All clubs at GFA are student-led. Students have the opportunity to lead their own club, which opens up opportunities for students to step out of their comfort zones as much as being a part of a club does. Not only will it instill a stronger sense of responsibility, but it will also benefit them further in their future. Clubs at GFA give students the freedom to pursue their favored interests while building community with peers. Over the next few weeks, we will recognize the accomplishments and goals of the clubs that were mentioned, and many more!
